General Overview:
Very attractive and easy to user interface, with controls that could be operated with very little thought. Spyware Doctor automatically downloaded the latest spyware threat protection after installation, asked if I wanted to scan my system, and displayed the resulting infections in an easy-to-understand way.
I learned a lot about spyware just by reading Spyware Doctor's
explanations of each infection type. Each spyware infection was nicely categorized by High, Medium, and Low danger levels.
I've been pleased to see the OnGuard technology
trap multiple attempts at sites trying to set cookies while I'm browsing the web.
This program is very good at protecting users
from malicious spyware software that could steal sensitive data
or redirect their browsers to undesirable sites.

Areas Needing Improvement
- Listed competitor's products as a high risk 'Rogue Anti-Spyware Product'. I understand competition, but felt this should have been listed as merely a Low threat.
- Scan speed needs improvement - took about twice as long to perform a full scan than Cyberdefender's AntiSpyware 2006.
- No 'Pause Scan' feature. It allows you to stop the scan midway, but it starts over when you're ready to continue.
- Trial version should allow a few system cleans, to give customers confidence that it works as advertised (it does - we proved it with a licensed version - but most people will still want to try it for themselves)

Scanning is free, but only the registered version can remove the infections. We asked PC Tools for a registration key and confirmed that it worked exactly as advertised - all infections were removed from our systems.
